Dear Customers, dear Friends of Planar Chromatography
We are pleased to inform you about our HPTLC Training Courses in 2017.
In Module 1 – HPTLC Today, you will become familiar with the basic theoretical principles of qualitative and quantitative analysis and learn about the versatility of HPTLC. Furthermore, effect-directed HPTLC, AMD 2 separation, and HPTLC-MS are elements of this course.
If you utilize HPTLC for the analysis of plants or plant extracts, then Module 2 – HPTLC for the analysis of botanicals is the right choice. You are already an HPTLC expert? Then select Module 3 – Method development and validation in HPTLC and learn on how to develop your own HPTLC methods.
In collaboration with BCON Instruments, we additionally offer the two-day intensive course High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC).
Sign up today and book your place at the 2017 HPTLC Training Courses.
We look forward to seeing you!
Best regards,
Melanie Broszat, Ph.D.

Module 1 – HPTLC Today
The participants will get to know the possibilities of HPTLC and become familiar with the fundamental theoretical contexts. Participants are taught ways to utilize methods for the qualitative and quantitative analysis under standardized conditions. Additionally, participants will become acquainted with the different hyphenation possibilities of HPTLC (e.g. TLC-MS) and effect-directed HPTLC. The automated multiple development (AMD) is another important element of this module.
Course language: English
When: 23–25 October 2017
Where: CAMAG, Sonnenmattstrasse 11, 4132 Muttenz, Switzerland
The participants are shown the capabilities of HPTLC along with possible applications of the technique. Participants are instructed on how to utilize the technique for the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of botanicals and herbal medicines. Technical terms are explained and participants will learn to carry out identity checks using HPTLC fingerprint, both on the theoretical and practical levels. Further content: System Suitability Test, transfer validation, use of reference images, natural variability and adulterations.
Course language: English
When: 18–20 October 2017
Where: CAMAG, Sonnenmattstrasse 11, 4132 Muttenz, Switzerland
Module 3 – Method development and validation in HPTLC
Participants will be familiarized with the principles of method development and method validation in HPTLC. The general concepts of method development (selection of the stationary phase, optimization of the mobile phase, optimization of derivatization, sample application parameters) are discussed. The focus is on the validation of qualitative and quantitative methods. In addition to the theoretical information, practical experience will be gained through experiments.
